Очень благодарю автора за видео. Xc70 2010, 258 000 пробег. Муфта гены потрескивала, и заклинила. Не слушайте тех кто пишет, что можно снять вентиляторы и легко вытащить - вентиляторы вверх не вытащить! Я не смог протащить генератор между патрубками. Пришлось снимать корпус масляного фильтра - там 4 болта. Масло не течет, если фильтр не крутить и оставлять в положении как на авто. Генератор выходит-заходит свободно. Заменил в нем муфту, контактные кольца, подшипники и щетки. Вышло 10500р. Обратите внимание - корпус фильтра нужно снимать и ставить, когда генератор откручен со своего места. Т.е. сначала прикручиваете фильтр, а потом генератор, иначе трудно подлезть к нижнему болту корпуса фильтра.

A few comments on the seized screw at 18:44: A few weeks ago I bought a used a spring to my 2009 V70. The old spring is broken right down at the bottom, on the "seat". So I jacked the car up, put a jackstand underneith and started working on the screw which didn't want to budge at all. Eventually after several attempts, by hand, and a lot of WD40, it started moving. Then it stopped again and it turned out that I couldn't screw it back either. Luckily it was still half way inside the nut on the other side. I had to leave it that way for maybe 4 or so days until I got hold of better tools. The second attempt was mainly about getting it back all the way in. Success! I was tempted to try to get it all the way out, but again it got stuck in the same place. I tried to screw it back and forth but it just wouldn't move any further. I was very reluctant to use more force. Also, I don't have a garage or even a driveway. An absolute nightmare scenario would be if the screw snapped. I'd be stranded like a helpless whale on the beach. Anyway, I bought a new screw in case I DO get it out if I decide to give it another shot.

I replaced just the membrane, fixed the problem. Of course I misdiagnosed it and replaced serpentine belt, tensioner, alternator pulley and finally removed the alternator to test if it was the sqeeling thing. RUclips decided to show me this video AFTER I fixed it 😂

I'm more inclined to look at after market fog lights that shine on the road although I'm concerned with all the plastic and styrofoam under the bumper and most of the front end. Mounting is going to be a challenge.

I just noticed the fog lights interior reflector that reflects the light doesn't cover the sides which would reflect more if they were like the headlights of which the entire inside reflective area is covered. Its easy to understand why there is minimal amount of light shining on the road. Again, a lot of trouble and expense to make something look cool without focusing on what the purpose is.

Would a worn out alternator pulley cause the serpentine belt to flap around between the transfer pulley and the crank?

After seeing what it involves to install these lights and the lack of benefit with it being somewhat limited to the looks, I don't think its something I would do as my thoughts were related more to more light on the road and less to the look of which I'm not all that fond of. I don't want to drill holes, burn the holes or hire anyone to fabricate a custom bracket so its a no go for me.

How he manages to remove the main headlight cable connection so easily is amazing as it takes two flat head screw drivers for me to remove it. Not sure what year his Volvo is but mine takes a different bulb than the one shown. Higher wattage bulbs use more power which brings me to wonder about the wire gage, alternator output and battery resource along with why they put the small tab he removed from the H9 bulb ? Does it or will that affect any warranty issues initiated by fire caused by electrical changes ? Just wondering as it may be perfectly safe and ok but why make H9 bulbs with small tabs if it wasn't intended for a purpose of defeating the use in H11 sockets ?

Rather pointless the led lights don't shine on the road which brings me to wonder why bother ? Looking cool doesn't work for me.

On the 2009 Volvo XC70, I could not open the tailgate by any means and I had to carefully cut a square section from the inside carpeted panel that covers the lock in order to expose the entire lock. Even then I spent more than an hour poking and prodding all areas until I managed to open the lock and even now I couldn't repeat the process as I couldn't see what I poked to open it. Why Volvo couldn't offer a cable pull to open the lock like they did with the emergency fuel lid that locks is a mystery I could live without. I have the child safety lock which is also electronic and may have more to do with this than I know about. I will have to replace the lock as well as the entire inside panel since there were two screws I couldn't remove without opening the tailgate to remove them first. Brilliant or lack of it when it comes to making locks with so much plastic, springs with moving parts that are designed to fail and all but impossible to open via a manual release.

I forgot to mention, take care not to cross thread any of the screws that are in the rear tail light assembly as cross threading steel screws into brass inserts held by plastic retaining tail light assemblies can take a lot of time and patience to fix with epoxy glue when they break off from too much force on a cross threaded steel screws.

Thanks for the mute button as these long ads are ridiculous as they are annoying. Replacing a backup bulb on a Volvo is much the same although I don't understand why Volvo finds it necessary to change the bulb types for almost every bulb in the car. The turn signal bulbs are a real pain to find and when you do, it comes with a shipping charge which brings the purchase for one small bulb close to twenty bucks.
